Today (19 April 2017) Pol. Col. Dr. Naras Savestanan, Director-General of Department of Probation (DOP) together with Somboon Tosborvorn, M.D., Director of Nopparat Rajathanee hospital organise the press release on “Driving Under Influence (DUI) to morgue” at Petchpiman conference room, Chalermphrakiat Building, 7th Floor, Nopparat Rajathanee hospital, Kannayao, Bangkok.
Pol. Col. Dr. Naras Savestanan, Director-General of DOP, revealed that during Songkran festival there were 3,690 accidents resulting in 390 dead and 3,808 injured. As a result, there have been 5,173 cases coming to probation system (from 120 probation offices throughout Thailand) as follows:
- 4,856 cases of DUI
- 278 cases of driving under narcotic influence
- 39 cases of reckless driving (pursuant to the Penal Code)
